Holiday Season Travel Tips To Keep You All Sane And Merry

Whether your travel plans include going home to visit family or jetting off to the Caribbean to get away from it all, there’s no arguing that traveling during the holidays can be stressful.

So, how do you maneuver flight delays, crowded airports, and cranky kids? Fortunately, from packing to the actual journey, here are some holiday season travel tips that can be utilized to make the best of your voyage.

When all is said and done, it’s the busiest time of year for people to be rushing to get to where they most want to be, and there’s also something magical about that.

Plan your trip with our holiday season tips and enjoy the perfect vacations

Traveling with Kids The Smart Way

One of the best holiday travel tips when it comes to traveling with kids begins before you even leave the house.

If you’re traveling with little ones, some extra planning can go a long way. Plenty of iPad games, movies, and games can keep children entertained for the grueling and tiring travel time. And don’t forget to charge up!

And of course, your choice of a resort will ultimately be the key to keeping everyone sane during the journey, especially when you’re considering what to do with kids. In Cancun for example, holiday season brings with it the heart-warming Christmas Village (located at Moon Palace Cancun), a reminder of which can most definitely put a smile on even the grumpiest child’s (or adult’s) travel face!

Plan Your Trip And Get a Head Start

Around the festive season, millions head off to their preferred holiday destinations to celebrate - meaning crowded airports, and what seems like endless security lines.

To skirt extra travel stress, leave extra time before flights to deal with security and extra time between connections. Imagine having ample time to sit down and enjoy a pre-flight cuppa while observing countless others kicking off their family vacations with a frantic rush to find their gate.

It’s easy to get a jumpstart on your holiday vacation. The simplest way to commence any all-inclusive family-friendly vacation is by choosing a destination that offers free airport transfers to the resort (usually requiring an accessible minimum length of stay). Some resorts also make your arrival a lot more flexible by offering an early access feature where you are welcome to take advantage of your all-inclusive experience from the moment you arrive, even if this is way before your check-in time (same day).

Make your holidays less stressful by planning your family vacations with these tips

Stick To Holiday Essentials With Carry-On Luggage

To avoid dealing with the annoyance of waiting for your luggage or (yikes) lost luggage, save yourself the stress by using carry-on bags during the holiday travel season. The great thing about choosing the right all inclusive holiday package to Cancun, Jamaica or beyond, is that there is no need to stress about your carry-on liquid allowance, as anything you may not have room for, you can generally find in your room, or request on arrival.

What’s more, for those who place great importance on the quality of their bath and hair amenities, it’s worthwhile checking out what amenities you’ll find at your chosen resort, such as the CHI-branded amenities which are included at Beach Palace and its sister resorts, for example.

If you do decide to check luggage, make sure you have all your holiday essentials–important documents, medications and a change of clothes for everyone–safely in your carry-on, just in case your luggage gets held up in any way.

Splurge for a Better Experience

During your holiday travels, spending a little bit more money to enjoy lounge access, seats with extra legroom, and/or priority boarding access can make different parts of your journey more enjoyable. After all, if you can’t spoil yourselves at this time of the year, when can you?

Last but not least, remember to embrace the travel chaos and be merry. When all is said and done, it’s the busiest time of year for people to be rushing to get to where they most want to be, and there’s also something magical about that.

Channel your inner jolliness - it’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Fantastic smaller hotel with an awesome beach for swimming. Service on beach is great - for drinks, food and umbrellas. Went for a wedding, everything was perfectly planned and organized.
